We are so proud and excited to announce that the Valero Energy Foundation has pledged $2 million to the Healy-Murphy Child Development Center capital campaign! Valero has long been one of Healy-Murphy’s biggest supporters and their latest gift will help further the care and education for hundreds of some of our community’s most vulnerable children.
Healy-Murphy’s $5 million capital campaign will create a next-generation child development center that sets the standard for caring for our community’s most vulnerable children. Healy-Murphy leadership worked closely with nationally recognized, award-winning LPA Architects and community experts in early childhood education and pediatric health and wellness to develop the vision for the Child Development Center. From that visioning process came a plan that incorporates national best practices for the creation of a “child-family-teacher” friendly facility. Central to the design are flexible, “future-proof” spaces that can be adapted and upgraded as needs change in the long term. The naturally themed outdoor area will provide opportunities for children to play, explore, learn and grow, in both individual and group settings.
According to Douglas Watson, Healy-Murphy Executive Director, “The new child development center will allow us to grow and set new standards for the care and education of infants and toddlers for years to come.”
